Dating
from the mid seventeenth century, the bedrooms at Fairfield House have
now been refurbished to the highest standards, combining modern comfort
and amenities with old world charm.
Of
our six bedrooms, four are en suite and two share a neighbouring
bathroom. Each room is individually designed, and, in keeping with
Shruti Whittington’s interest in meditation and mindfulness, named
after women mystics:
'Hildegard'
is a spacious twin room with exposed beams and triple aspect and a
luxury en suite shower room. With a third divan bed, 'Hildegard' makes
an ideal family room.
'Rabiya',
a delightful twin room, has en suite facilities with a bath. In keeping
with the Sufi tradition, the room decor is a soothing green. Exposed
wood and an old Victorian fireplace are added features of 'Rabiya'.
'Irina'
benefits from a bathroom, immediately across the corridor. A light,
airy, double aspect room, blue is the inspiration for 'Irina'.
'De
Salzmann' is designed in modern grey and lime colours. There is a
'Jack-and-Jill' bathroom between 'De Salzman' and the 'Chiyono' rooms.
Chiyono lived in Japan in the 13th century and the decor and
furnishings in the room reflect this. With a double bed, it can be used
as double or single room.
Meera,
which derives its inspiration from India, is a large double-aspect twin
room to the rear of Fairfield House with an en-suite shower room.
All our twin beds can also be configured as super king size beds. A travel cot can be supplied on request.
